“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” –2 Timothy 3:1-5

Camellia japonica. This common landscape shrub produces edible flowers all winter. I added the petals to stir fry for antioxidants. Petals can also be dried and added to tea or an oil infusion. Lots of benefits for skin and health. The new tender leaves of camellia can be harvested for black, green, or oolong tea come spring.

Usually tea is made with camellia sinensis, but japonica makes a fine tea too. It may not contain the same level of caffeine as sinensis.

Always research and identify accurately before using any plant.

God even made fresh food available to us in winter. He thought of it all. There’s no end to His mercies and love!

Happy New Year! We are just 3 years away from the final jubilee (50-year period) of our current age of history. If the Dead Sea Scroll Calendar is accurate, then Jesus will be here on the earth, reigning from Jerusalem by 2075. If the calendar is wrong, then Jesus is coming anyway. God tells us so in the Bible. We cannot know the day or hour, but the signs tell of His nearness.

Get ready! Expect more Bible prophecies to be fulfilled, major events, such as the rise of a ten-nation coalition, the rise of the anti-Christ, the rapture of those who believe in Jesus, the signing of a peace treaty between Israel and the anti-Christ, the rebuilding of the Jewish temple, more famines, pestilences, natural disasters, and violence. Then, expect Jesus—in all of His glory, like a lightning—to come, to conquer, and to reign with righteousness and truth.

“Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” – Isaiah 9:7

I found these gorgeous rugosa rosehips last week. Rosehips can contain up to 40 times the vitamin C in an orange. Good for immune, skin, and more. Although rosehip seed oil is beneficial for health, don’t ever eat rosehip seeds, as they are hairy and can irritate the throat.

To keep rosehips year around, carefully remove seeds and dry the flesh. Use dried rosehips in tea, oil infusions, and more. Use fresh rose hips for items like syrup and jelly. Identify with caution and research before using.

God provides!

Last week I found mullein growing along the side of the road. The leaves and flowers have been used medicinally for coughs, earaches, asthma, gout, and more. Make tea, oil infusions, or even burn the leaves to release healing properties. As always, research before doing anything, and make certain to identify mullein accurately.

The earth is filled with the goodness of the Lord! #foraging #herbalmedicine #permaculture #growyourownfood #thesuddenhomesteader #homesteading #JesusDiedForYou #JesusIsTheSaviorOfTheWorld #BelieveAndBeSaved
